Short And Sweet

Today was filled with good times and lots of friends and family. After I got off work today we went over to coreys brother's house for a family cookout! Then after we came home we had a couple of friends over and we shared a ton old memories and  laughs!!
So today I am soooo very thankful for all of our wonderful family and friends!!

The Unexpected

Sometime ago my Nonnie was diagnosed with lung cancer, she received radiations and chemotherapy and after a couple of months she recieved great news, she was in remission.
But today we found out that my wonderful and strong Nonnie would begin chemotherapy treatment on Thursday because the cancer has begun to grow again. Everyone please say a special pray tonight for strength and a speedy recovery.

One Year Ago Today We Got Engaged!

I can not believe we have been engaged for a year, that sounds cRaZy!! When we started planning our wedding had roughly 520 days now we are down to 150!!

I was at work tonight when I re-heard this quote, and it completely describes how I am feeling today.

Ordinary Day

Today was like most days I went to work, washed clothes and dishes, took care of the puppies, and I made dinner. Then I had the chance to go get some ice cream with a good friend. After ice cream she gave me a good luck present for my internship!

I start my internship for elementary education in August and I have so many emotions running through me. I am excited, nervous, anxious, and most of all I am ready to learn! Education is my passion and most of all I LOVE to teach reading. I can't believe I almost done with this chapter in life my!

I have so many amazing friends and family who have believed in me and supported me and I can not thank you all enough!!

Wedding Inspiration

Inspiration for our New Year's Eve Wedding.

We have been engaged since last July so we did a lot of wedding planning early on. We were able to get all of the the big things crossed of the list: venue, photographer, florist, d.j. and caterer. So for about the past 6 or 7 months there was not a whole lot of wedding planning going on, but now things are starting to get exciting again...only FIVE months to go. I can not wait!!! I Now Realize

I Now Realize Two Things About Myself:


1.) I am getting old...okay well I am not old yet but I am getting there. I use to be able to ride the tube for hours....but not anymore. This weekend I learned how to ski and I have never been so sore in my life!!! My legs, back, abs, and arms hurt SO bad! I thought I could work through the pain and do my zumba tonight...but that only lasted for about 10 seconds.


2.) I have the most wonderful fiance EVER! I went home on Saturday and got back late Monday night AND when I got home I had my favorite flowers waiting on me. I know I am one lucky girl, but sometime I forget how blessed I am. Then he goes and does something sweet and I fall in love all over again.

...good thing I didn't come home empty handed, for his birthday I am taking him to a Keith Urban concert!! He might get his tickets sooner rather than later!

LaKe FuN

I have a doctors appointment at home on Monday, so I had the chance to come home for the weekend. And since my parents and sister decided to leave town when I decided to come home, I got to spend some quality time with my aunt and uncle. Today we went out on the lake(one of my FAVORITE places)!! I love being on the water...I grew up on the lake so whenever I get a chance to go out on the boat, I seize the opportunity. I have had a wonderful weekend at home. Family is one of the most important things in my life and I am so blessed at have such an awesome and close family!

DIY Wedding Ideas

So I have been searching the internet for months for different types wedding decorations, dresses, cakes, etc.
And I think I am going to try to tackle some DIY projects. Here are a few I really would love to use!!!

1.) Pomanders
These would be for aisle decoration. And since I plan of making them myself (with the help of my wonderful sister/MOH) they would either be fake flowers or tissue paper.

2.) A BALLOON DROP.

This is probably my craziest DIY project but its the one i want the most! Since I am getting married NewYearsEve I think ballons at midnight would be prefect!!



3.) Guest Photo Book

I am going to make a guestbook out of my wonderful engagement photos!! This is the easiest DIY since all I have to do is place the photos and make the order!!

All About The Puppies

I am still feeling sickly today, but with these two faces looking up at me I can't seem to lay down for long. I wasn't quite feeling up for our walk today so I took them outside and watched them play for what seemed like FOREVER!

If you haven't figured it out by now, I love these two doggies!! They are my babies until we have REAL babies (which won't be for about another 2 or 3 years).

YUCKY DAY

Today is not such a good day, I am getting sick. I have the cold/sinus problem and there is nothing I can do to stop it ( I even drank some O.J.)
Who gets sick in the middle of summer?!? THIS KID!!

On a more positive note my electric bill came into today and it was 150 dollars LESS than last month. How is that possible??? I have no idea, but no complaints here. So that was pretty much the highlight of my day...I know lame right!

Wedding Workout

In 5 months and 14 days we will be getting married!! AHHHH, that sounds so crazy!! I can't wait!

So my motivation to look good on my wedding day and honeymoon (which is more important to me because we are going somewhere warm and beachy) has finally kicked in!

I am going to attempt to exercise through zumba. I have only halfway jumped on this zumba train because I have decided to do it in the comfort of my own home, through the kinect version. Which I am super excited to try, I have wanted this game for about two months and tonight I finally purchased it.

I am not the type to exercise! I danced for about 14 years of my life and I was lucky enough that keep me in pretty good shape throughout my high school days. But since I have not danced since high school and that was four years ago...I need to start doing something. I hate the gym and feel completely lost when I enter a room full of machines and equipment I have no idea how to use.  I could also do zumba with a room full of complete strangers but I don't think that sounds like a lot of fun either.

So my goal is to lose 10 to 15 pounds by walking my lovely doggies once a day, zumba for at least 30 minutes once a day, and a little change in diet! I will definitely let y'all know how this new adventure works out for me!!!

Painting

So lately I have been a painting freak. I have just rediscovered this hobby, and I am pretty much obsessed! I know I am not good, but I just don't care. Because it makes me HaPpY!!

Reasons I love it soo much..
1. It relaxes me after a stressful day!  ...which I have been having a lot of lately
2. It is an awesome inexpensive way to decorate my new home!
3. It is fun, and messy, and cheap!

Here is some of my recent artwork!! So far I have just been stealing ideas from the web and local boutiques. Maybe I will get courageous and do something original.

I really like the live, laugh, love idea..but I just cant seem to get it right yet. I am going to keep working on it!

Engagement Encounters Weekend

This past weekend Corey and I attend an engagement retreat...

I am Catholic, and like most little girls I have dreamed of getting married in my church since before I can remember. One of the requirements to get married in our church is to attend some kind of marriage preparation course. Corey and I choose to attend a catholic engagement encounters weekend. And it was amazing! I mean it's not what you think of as fun, but we got so much out of it! I would definitely recommend this weekend to other engaged couples. The weekend involves a lot of dialog between you and your fiance about all kinds of topics like communication, children, religion, and money. The nice thing about this weekend is that it is all about you and your fiance. We had two married couples giving "talks" about each topic and then we got the chance to write down what we thought about the topic individually (with the help of guide questions), after we finished writing we got together as a couple and discussed what we thought about the topic. It is a wonderful set up that allows you to be completely honest and open with our fiance.

To say the least, we really enjoyed our weekend away from wedding planning and the stresses of life...and we were able to work on strengthening our own relationship.

A Blessing In Disguise

Early Friday morning my phone decided to go swimming. I immediately began to panic and then proceeded to do everything I was suppose to do..take off the back, pull out the battery, put them both in rice. Twenty-four hours later still nothing...just a broken phone. Since it is the holiday weekend, I now have to wait until Tuesday to go get a new phone. At first I was completely devastated about what had happened to my beloved phone because like most people mine is connected to my hip all day long. But today on my way home from the beach I realized that maybe somethings happen for a reason.

Sometime last week I came up with the brilliant idea to surprise my fiance with a day at the beach (which is only about a two hour drive from where we live). So this morning at 7 a.m. I packed up the cooler and we headed down to the beach. Usually on a road trip I would talk, listen to the radio, text, facebook,email...
But today we did nothing but talk, and it was WONDERFUL. In the two and half  hours it took us to get down to the beach and back not once did we turn on the radio.

Soooo lesson of the day (or maybe the year) not only do you need make time for your better half but you also need to get rid of all the distractions so you two can truly have some alone time!!
