Week In Review

Well it looks like teaching was a little more time consuming than I originally thought. So I decided to do a blog that summarizes my week. This is how it will probably be for the next couple of months.

Last Week
Monday-Thursday: Was a complete blur and all that I know is that I was exhausted, but had the best time. I love teaching!


Friday: I taught and then I got to go home!! I did not get to Huntsville until about 8:30. My mom and I went to Bonefish and then to a movie. It was perfect I have missed her so much.
Saturday: Was hair day. I was suppose to cut all my hair off, but I chickened out. My mom really didn't want to cut it all off and since she was the one with the scissors she reigned supreme. In the end we cut off about three inches and covered all my grey (Yup, you heard that right, I have A LOT of grey hair and I am only 22) . My sister and I look beautimous.

Then we went to church with the whole Grasson/Johnson clan. Next was Caitlin's Birthday Dinner at Rosie's!!

Sunday: I went to visit my Granny and then headed back to Troy! Once I got home Corey and I had dinner together and watched a movie. It was an awesome weekend....I just wish Corey could have came home with me.

Oh yeah I started reading the Hunger Games. I really wasn't planning of reading them, but my sister wanted them for her birthday, so I bought all three. Then my mom sent her the first one....so I just keep them and got to reading.  They really are good, pretty much everything you have heard this trilogy is true. It is also super easy read. I finished the first book in two days!

Happy Day

Today is my best friends birthday....MY SISTER. Happy Birthday Caitlin. 

You are the most amazing young woman I know. I love you more than I could ever explain. AND I love that we are truly best friends. I hope you have the most amazing day and I can not wait to see in three more days!!

Recipe Box

I have been wanting a recipe box for a while now, but haven't found one that I liked. So I decided I would make my own....well that wasn't so easy either, because I could never find a box that was the right size.
As I was strolling through walmart a couple of week back I saw this sticker box and immediately thought of my recipe box.

I forgot to take a picture of just the box(its the tinker bell box). So here is the box and some of the supplies I bough that day. I ended up just using the scrapbook paper ($0.97 for 6 sheets!) and the circle letters (I think they were also $0.97).

This was a pretty simple process, I just used modge podge to attach the paper to the box.

Then I played around a couple of different styles, I ended using the last one. I love it, it is already sitting in my kitchen. Now I just need some recipes to fill it!!

Hello Exhaustion

Ohh soo much is happening. The good news I have more free time than excepted so I can blog, bad news I have no energy to get creative and crafty...so y'all are left with just my thoughts.

Today was exhausting...which is how I feel every day. Hopefully I will get use to it soon. Now I know why people look forward to the weekends! If you work a "nine to five" you live for the weekends....Friday afternoon can not get here soon enough.

Tonight I went to dinner with the in-laws, took corey dinner then cried because it was the first time I had seen him in four days, and washed a mountain of clothes.

On a more positive note. Corey and I have been exploring the idea of buying a house. He randomly said that if I got a job in the fall we could start the house buying process. So of course I ran with it, and been looking at houses online for the past week! Ah, I can't wait. I am 90% sure I will get a job in the fall...so hopefully we will be in a new house within the next 8 to 10 months!

Oh yeah! I completely forget...when I got home today, I had a present on my front door...a dead mouse! It's was from this precious cat I found a couple of weeks ago. Anyway it was soo gross. Cats leave these things as a sign of "love" but I wish he would just leave me some nice flowers.

Oh, This Day of Love

Of course today is Valentines Day. And I spent the day with nineteen of the best valentines...my precious first graders. This is only my third day with them and I love them already, it is going to be so hard when I leave them. They also got the some pretty awesome valentines!

Before I made it to school this morning, I woke up to these awesome flowers and they looked even more amazing when I got home from school today. I must say Corey is a pretty great valentines. I also received chocolate and a chick flick....hello relaxation

First Day of School

Yup, today was my first day of school.....well teaching that is. I started my long term substitute position and I am teaching first grade! I can not tell you how nervous I was this morning, and to make things worse I have a 45 minute drive to think about everything that could go wrong. BUT once I actually got into the classroom all of those things immediately melted away. Today was simply amazing, it reminded me of ALL the reasons why I love teaching. I can not wait to have a classroom of my own!

On another note, Valentine's Day is tomorrow. And tonight I realized I was married. I mean I know I am married, but there are those moments when it hits you. And tonight while I was standing in Walmart on the card aisle, I realized I was married. Haha I know that sounds kind of crazy, but I am kind of crazy....so it works. Anyways as I was standing there, I realized that my card should say to my HUSBAND. Soooooo after I had this epiphany I could only buy a card that says "happy valentine's day, husband"
If y'all have never noticed before... I am kind of a dork. 

So life is getting back to it's crazy self and by crazy....I mean super busy. I don't know how much blogging I will be doing in the next 8 weeks.
I will try to post at least once a week and let you know how my precious first grade babies are!

Making Over Bedrooms

Since I won't be having any babies anytime soon....I will not get to redecorate our guest bedroom. So I shall redecorate our bedroom! I am dying to add color to our tiny little house. I am tired of browns, and creams, and tans, and whites. So color here we come! Right now we have an old brown bedspread and tan walls....blah, blah, blah.
Here is what I am hoping to do.
Something peaceful and pretty....I can't wait to get started!!

My Ferris Bueller Day

In the midst of my sickness my sister and her boyfriend came to visit. Luckily by Saturday I was feeling better. I was suppose to work Saturday morning but for the first time in my life I called in. I mean I have called in before but it has always been because I was actually sick (and I can count on one hand the numbers of times I have had to do it). I like my job most days, and I think people who call in are ridiculous. Sooo on Saturday I was ridiculous....and I felt terrible about it. Technically I really was still sick....but I also cold have worked.

Anyway, if I was going to play hooky I was going to make it worth while. So the four of us (caitlin, jt, corey and I) went to the zoo!

And then we cooked some homemade pizza and played some mario on the wii.
It was a great weekend with my favorite people!

Oh yeah, In puppy new we learned how to "shake". So here is a picture of Bruno "sitting" and "shaking"

Our first Valentine's Day as Mr. & Mrs.

I love Valentine's Day. And I have my parents to thank for that. They celebrate Valentine's day to its fullest and always made a big deal out of this day. They always reassured their love for me and my sister not only on this special day but everyday. They definitely made me who I am today and I can not thank them enough for that.
So since they made Valentine's Day so special for me, I want to do the exact same thing.
I will always make Valentine's Day a big deal not only for my husband but also for my children, friends, and family.  You don't have to be married or in a relationship to feel the love.
To feel the love in my house, I decorated.
I am not done decorating yet....but I am not sure what I am going to do next. Here is what I have so far.

The Flu

On Wednesday I started feeling bad but I thought it was just the cold that Corey had. Sooooo I went to work and well that was not a good idea. Five hours later I could not wait to get off. Then Thursday morning I felt like I had been run over by a truck. I had to go to the doctor and get a TB test anyway, so I went ahead and got the doctor to make sure I just had a cold.....surprise it was the flu. I have NEVER had the flu, and I hope I NEVER have it again. It was awful.

Friday I still felt awful but I didn't sleep all day, I watched a little Big Bang Theory....it's an amazing show

By Saturday I was finally starting to feel better, but I was not quite ready to go back to work.....

Full Steam Ahead

Today I took all the necessary steps to start my long term substitute position. All I am waiting on now is the results from my TB test and of course the baby!
Ahhhhh I can't wait to start teaching.
That is pretty much all that's happening in my life right now....oh yeah and I am getting over Corey's sickness. Lets all hope it doesn't stay around long.
