Wedding Fun

Today was a much needed day off for me! I stopped working Sundays at my part-time job and I had finished all my lesson plans for this coming up week! SO today was completely stress-free. Corey and I took a much needed day away and did something I had been dying to do for months.

A while back I decided that it would be fun to purchase our wedding rings together. I believe the wedding ring is such an important and symbolic pledge of our love to each other, and it's important to me that we do the "big" things together. (Did you know the wedding ring originated for the Egyptians?) Anyways, with our crazy schedule I was not sure if it was going to be possible, but today we made it happen. We actually got to do something I planned. YAY for buying our wedding rings (I am just a little excited only 97 day to go!). I am so glad we got to cross this off the growing wedding to-do list.

Happy SUNDAY Everyone!

Not our rings but it's a cool picture!

National Sister Week??

I am not really sure when National Sister Week is, but I heard that it was this week( I think that maybe untrue). In any case I decided to write a post for mine.
I am not sure if I have talked much about my sister on here, but as cliché as it sounds SHE is my VERY best friend. We have not always been close but in the past four years since I went to college, we definitely made up for lost time. I love my sister so much, I trust her judgement beyond anyone else, and I look up to her even though she is four years younger than me. She is a truly amazing person. Caitlin I love you so very much!!

Oh yeah, she is also my Maid Of Honor and has to deal with all of my stress and crazy request. Caitlin I cant wait for you to be the one who stands beside me on such an amazing day (only 100 more days)!!

Caitlin came to visit me at school

She moves into Auburn. WAR EAGLE!

Celebrating 25 Years!!!

Today my parents are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, so this post is for them!

Here they are 25 years ago. How cute are they!?!

My parents are AMAZING!
They have given me more than anyone ever should.
My parents gave me an wonderful sister and I childhood which I could never forget. Not only did provide us with great vacations and memories, but they gave us an opportunity to receive a great education. But the most important thing my parents did for me was to teach me how to love. They loved me unconditionally and I have never doubted their love for me or each other!

I hope that in 25 years that Corey and I are able to celebrate this wonderful milestone and that my parents are celebrating 25 more!

I love you so much!!! Happy 25th Anniversary!

Hello Procrastination

Procrastination is my problem today, I need ALOT of motivation. I have a ton of homework, lesson plans, and wedding things to do....but instead all I want to do is blog, craft, fb stalk, and pinterest.

....So instead of doing my internship seminar hw, 25 lesson plans for next week, or checking something off my growing wedding to-do list I am going to give you a day in the life of Lindsey (fiance, daughter, sister, elementary student teacher, wedding planner extraordinar)

5:00 am -6:30 am
Wake up (hit the snooze a couple of times), get dressed and ready, make my breakfast and lunch. Love on and let out Darcy

6:30 am -7:30 am
Leave the house and drive to my internship. It is about a forty minute drive. Most days I eat my breakfast on the way and jam out to music!!

7:30 am-3:30 pm
Arrive and school and TEACH (my favorite part of the day, I LOVE my job/future)

3:30 pm- 4:30 pm
Leave school and drive home. During this time I usually call my mom, dad, and Corey. I also think... a lot! A hour-ish drive each day is good for the mind and soul.

4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Come home and let out/love on my sweet puppy. Most days I wash the dishes, start a load of clothes, or clean.

5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
I get my exercise on! Lately I have been walking with Corey's mom. But if I do not walk I Zumba!

6:30 - 9:00 pm
Homework usually this means working on lesson plans, article reviews, or writing paper. Then I make dinner or go eat with my in-laws (They are awesome enough to feed me/bring food to me when I am not able to come over)

9:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Take a shower and go to SLEEP (my second favorite part of the day.)

Throw in some fb, pinterest, and blogging...that pretty much sums up my day!

First DIY project

So my love for pinterest has not wavered since the last time I blogged about it. But on Friday I put my obsession to use. I finally got around to doing one of the DIYs I saw on that amazing website. This blog was also meant to be a tutorial but since I got so caught up in actually doing it, I do not have picture for every step :( But don't worry since I have now accomplished one of these, I can not wait to do another!!

So without further ado............here is my first DIY project!
My Inspiration
Oh yeah, this all began because I went to the doctor Friday afternoon and found out that I had strep. So my boss man told me not to come in because he did not want strep tooo. But the problem was I did NOT feel sickly at all....soo I ventured to walmart and found this beauty on sale for 5 dollars!!!
And Since I had already seen the menu on Pinterest I already new exactly what I was going to do with it.

I came home, took it apart, and decided to spray paint both the plastic cover and the cardboard with Chalk Board Paint. I already had this paint from a project I had done a few months back.
I accidentally broke the plastic piece in half but nothing a little hot glue cant fix.
Here is where I am lacking in pictures, I apologize. Next I spray painted them both with black ChalkBoard paint and let them dry. After it was dry I decided the plastic piece would work better to write on. Next you need to season your board, it is super easy all you have to do is lay a piece of chalk on its side and rub it EVERYWHERE and then just wipe it off!

After that I painted the word MENU and circles white. Once the paint dried I placed black vinyl letters(which I already had) on top of the circles!!

Then I just wrote what we were having for the week!!

And placed it here for now, I think I might paint the frame a different color...I just can't decide which one
