I have been a horrible, terrible, no good blogger lately. I haven't had a "real" post in about two weeks!
So this is still not a "real" blog post but another LATE Five on Friday. This weekend was of the most memorable weekends in my life to date. My VERY best friend got married!! AND I had the greatest pleasure of standing beside her on wedding day, as her matron of honor. We have been through a lot together the past 12 years. Some things that we would not like to remember, and a ton of things that brings a smile to my face. I can't wait to see what the future brings Emily and Derek! I love y'all both so much.

Five on Friday {Week 5}
This Friday was my first that I didn't teach. I was soo bored most of the week BUT it was a great start to summer break. A LOT of relaxing and spending time with Corey!
This Friday I spent it with one of my best friends, Megan.
Working clockwise:
1. We went to the public library and I got my very first library card.
2. Megan killed a spider...in my house (need bug spray ASAP)
3. We danced!
4. And had a couple drinks.
5. And Corey came home just as Megan was leaving.
Pretty close to a prefect Friday! Hope y'all have a fabulous weekend.

Five on Friday {Week 4}
I completely forgot about Five on Friday last week. It was a crazy Friday! It was my last day teaching my precious first graders, it was field day, we were leaving for Huntsville, and I found out that I got an interview. So please excuse my forgetfulness I had a billion other things on my mind.
Without further ado, here are five things that have happened since Last Friday:
1. Hugs from the kiddos.
2. Brewfest in Huntsville.
3. Name Picture that I made.
4. Corey and I.
5. Playing with the puppies.

Name Picture
I finally got around to making a collage of our name. I saw this AWHILE back, I don't even remember where I originally saw it. But I know you can buy them from any where between $40.00 and $70.00 on Etsy.
I figured I could just DIY it for a whole lot cheaper....so I did.
While I was in Micheal's last week I found a frame with (6) 5x7 pictures going across and it was on sale for $23.00 (normally $46.00). Score!! Then I went to Google and found pictures that would work for our name. Sent them to the photo center and printed. It was Easy Peasy and only cost me a total of $30.00...so I saved some money!
This is our living room. Our house is finally starting to look like a HOME!! And yes this is how my house normally looks. Laptop on the couch, trash on the coffee table, and windows open (usually laundry is on the couch too!)

Happy Mother's Day
I am one pretty lucky girl because this Mother's Day I have two wonderful ladies to celebrate!
My momma and My mom-in-law. I wish both of you the most wonderful Mother's Day of all.
I am going to keep this short and sweet because we have some celebrating to do!
Love is patient; love is kind. Love is not jealous; is not proud; is not conceited; does not act foolishly; is not selfish; is not easily provoked to anger; keeps no record of wrongs; takes no pleasure in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth; love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. ~I Corinthians 13:4-7

Four Hour Drive
Literally...it takes four hours from where we live now to get to Huntsville.
That's where we are headed as I type, for Mother's Day/ BrewFest.
I can't wait until we get there, this drive is killing me tonight. Leaving at 11 p.m...not fun. Husband being in a bad mood...even worse.
But on a happier note it's Mother's Day weekend so we will celebrate with my family Saturday and Sunday morning, then we will drive back home and celebrate with Corey's family for dinner Sunday night!!
Hope y'all have a fabulous weekend!
Oh yeah! Today was my last day of teaching :( and I have an interview coming up :)
Details on both coming soon...

Thankful. Grateful. Blessed
I will never say another dirty word about my part-time boss again.
Backstory: I worked at a BBQ restaurant named Hooks for about three years BEFORE I started my internship for elementary education. My boss sooo graciously let me work weekends(during internship) for extra cash and when that became too overwhelming, he said I could just come back after I graduated.
So I graduated college in December and got a job offer to do a long term substitute position in first grade. Well that didn't begin until late February so in the mean time I worked at Hooks.
Present Day: I am almost done teaching, Friday is my last day :(. Soo back to Hooks I go (hopefully just for the summer). I really want a full time teaching job for the fall!!!!
But my boss again graciously hires me back, AND agrees to all of my crazy request.
Soo tonight I am grateful for a job(that will keep me busy this summer) and that I will get to see Corey soo much more!
HAPPY SUMMER TIME

Options
I am not one to hide my feelings well AND most of you know how crazy/stressful the past couple of months has been for me:
Working Full-time. (love it and completely exhausted everyday)
Corey's Crazy Working Schedule.
Finding out my Nonnie's cancer has spread.
Job Hunting.
And Life.
Last night Corey and I got some promising news. We MIGHT move to Huntsville in the near future. That MIGHT is a huge question mark, because it all depends on Corey.
Before last night I never thought moving to back to Huntsville was ever an option. But we never know where this crazy life will lead us, and it is completely out of our control. So all we can do is pray A LOT.
Every girls dream is to live close to their family (well at least this girls dream). I couldn't image raising a family and not having my family close, BUT then again how can we raise a family and not be close to Corey's amazing parents. They have been my life savers the past couple of years, they made all of my homesickness easier. It will definitely be a BIG decision.
We have a lot of thinking and praying to do, BUT I can not describe how EXCITED having options make me!!!
All we can do is wait and see, where the future takes us!!

My First Pillow!
I didn't follow a pattern, AND it is definitely not perfect. But OH how I love them!!
I had a 14 inch pillow so I measured two inches extra on each side.
I ended up with: 16" by 16". I have two sheets of fabric here (one is the orangey pattern and one is white).
This is showing you how I marked it off, nothing too fancy.
Just finished threading my machine....tutorial coming soon!
I put the "foot" down exactly where I placed my pin.
I removed the pen and began to sew.
I only sewed three sides with my machine.
Flip inside out and insert pillow.
Then I hand stitched the fourth side.
TA-DA two new pillow. I LOVE them and can't wait to make more!!

My First Pot Roast
First I placed the rump roast in the Crock Pot....and then I realized I was a little too hasty. So I had to take it back out and place the onions in the bottom of the pot...learn from my mistakes.
Next I added potatoes and carrots...I cut my potatoes in half.
Since this was my first time, I took the easy way out and bought the McCormick Slow Cooker Packet. It was really good, but next time I will be more original with the recipe.
You add the seasoning and one cup of water. Then pour on top for the potatoes, onion, carrots, roast mixture.
Eight hours later, it was done! Yum, Yum, Yum!!!!

Blackberry Cobbler #2
This cobbler is more traditional AND my favorite one so far! This also came from the amazing Pioneer Woman, if you have not checked out her blog you should!
Ingredients
- 6 cups Fresh Or Frozen Blackberries
- 1/2 cup Plus 4 Tablespoons Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 1/2 whole Zest Of Lemon
- 2 cups Flour
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
- 1/4 cup Crisco (vegetable Shortening)
- 4 Tablespoons Butter
- 1 whole Egg
- 1/2 cup Milk
Preparation Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine blackberries, ½ cup sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a mixing bowl. Stir and spread out in a buttered pyrex dish.
In a separate bowl pour flour, salt, baking powder, and 1 tablespoon sugar. Add shortening and butter and work mixture together with a pastry blender (or your fingers) until the mixture is coarse. Measure ½ cup milk, add an egg, and mix together. Pour into flour mixture, stirring as you go. Mixture should be smooth and not dry, but not over stickly.
Take clumps of dough and place them on top of the blackberries. Lightly flatten dough with your fingertips. Sprinkle with 2 to 3 tablespoons of sugar and bake until golden for 30 minutes. Berry juice will be slightly thin, but don’t be afraid. It will gradually soak into the biscuity topping and make your life complete.
Serve with vanilla ice cream.
